Saint Antony School

Founded in 1994 with a single class, Saint Antony school has experienced remarkable growth and now welcomes more than 2,000 students.

It educates children from the surrounding villages, from kindergarten to the final year of secondary school, without distinction of gender, caste or religion, and is recognized for the quality of its teaching as well as for its educational commitment.

Its exceptional results in national exams place it among the very top schools in the region.

Where is the school located?

The school is located in Kanji, in the center of several villages, in the state of Tamil Nadu, in southern India, three hours away.

It represents a real hope for the future for families, most of whom make a living from agriculture as day laborers, crafts, or trade. Essential services are located an hour's drive away.

Saint Antony School opened its first class at the request of the villagers who wanted to offer their children a quality alternative to local public education.

Thanks to the support of the Enfants de Kanji association and The Kanji Project in England, children from poor families can access quality education.

Despite its name, the school is entirely non-denominational. It welcomes students of all origins, genders, religions, and castes in a spirit of openness and equality.

It employs around one hundred teachers, administrative or maintenance staff.

Thanks to the remarkable commitment of the teaching staff, the discipline and motivation of the students, the school enjoys a reputation for excellence.

She has received the Best School Award and Best Teacher Award from the State of Tamil Nadu.

School life

Beyond academic teaching, students excel in team sports performances and have the opportunity to join scout groups, nature conservation groups, the Junior Red Cross, dance groups, karate groups, and judo groups.

The excellent results obtained in the exams have enabled hundreds of students, girls and boys, to work as doctors, engineers, nurses, teachers, etc.
