My name is Srihariprasath. I am 16 years old. I entered Sant Antony six years ago. A sponsor covered my school fees. I am an orphan. My sister is in 12th grade in Erode, which is a six-hour drive from our village. My mother had to take out a loan to finance her studies. She cannot afford my schooling. The opening of the high school will allow me to continue my education until 12th grade.

I come from the village of Kolundrampattu, near Kanji. My parents never had stable jobs due to my father's alcoholism. My illiterate mother was the sole breadwinner. My sister's decision to leave home and marry in secret worsened the situation. My mother humbly sought help from Saint Antony because she wanted me to have an education. I was admitted to school free of charge at the age of 12. My life suddenly had meaning. After completing 10th grade, I was admitted to a junior high school and earned my high school diploma. I was then selected for a preparatory course for the Tiruvannamalai Police Academy. I have been a police officer since 2024, thanks to Saint Antony and its sponsors who gave me a better future.

This month, I will receive my Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications from Velore College. I come from a very poor family in Koralampet. I have two sisters and a brother. My father was an electrician but had to stop working due to health reasons. He had to go to the hospital three times a week for dialysis. My mother had to borrow money to pay for the treatments. My father's death plunged the family into deep distress and made it impossible to repay the debts. My mother asked Saint Antony for help, and he offered her a job as a housekeeper and enrolled me and my brother in school free of charge. With my degree, I will join my older sister, who is married, in Chennai and look for a job while continuing my studies. I will be able to contribute to paying off our debts.
